1.  What exactly is a "personalized book"?

 

In our wonderful stories, your child is the main character in his or her own adventure.  Each book has your child’s name, age, hometown and one to three friends.  In addition, a special dedication from you is included.  Children are delighted to read their own story and will want to read it again and again.  

 

2.    What information is needed to produce a personalized book?

 

When you add a book to the shopping cart, our website will prompt you for all the necessary information.  For most books, we'll need to know the child's gender, first and last names, hometown, and the names of 1 to 3 friends.  There are some titles that require more information (such as birthdate for the birthday books).  You may also give us optional information such as age, middle name and the name the child is called (such as a nickname).  If we have questions, we'll contact you to confirm your order prior to production.

 

3.    Will you share my information with anyone else?

 

No!  We value your privacy and that of the children for whom you are purchasing books.  We will only use the information you provide us to fulfill your order.  Occasionally, we will email you information about our new products and specials.  You may opt out of these by emailing us with “unsubscribe” in the subject line.

 

4.    Do I have to pay sales tax?

 

 If we are shipping your book to an address in a state, the requires sales tax ,  we are required to collect sales tax.

 Q. Is each book hardbound?

  

A. Yes, our books are quality hardback cover books, with a wipeclean film laminated surface on each one.

 

 

 

Q. Are the illustrations inkjet printed or are they professionally printed on a full size printing press?

 

A. All the illustrations have been pre-printed by a professional printing company for permanent full color pages.  Create-A-Book books are keepsakes and will last a lifetime.

 

 

 

Q. I have a niece who received a Create-A-Book book thirty years ago.  Is this the same Create-A-Book company?

 

A.  Yes, Create-A-Book, Inc. was founded in 1980 and is the only publisher of personalized book who has been in business for 31 years.  Create-A-Book is the name you can trust.

 

 Q. How long does it take to make my book?

A. If we have your title in stock it only takes us a day or two to print your information.

 

Q. Can we pick up a book instead for shipping it?

A. Yes, just let us know , and we will hold it in the store for pick-up.

 

Q. What if I find an error in my book?

A. We try really hard not to make mistakes, but sometimes it does happen. If we made the error we will correct it. Please be careful to check your info. We will print exactly as you tell us. Errors you made will not be corrected unless another book is paid for. 

Do not use a nickname if you do not want that to be used though out the book.

 All custom printed items are a final sale , due to the personalization.

Q. What is I can't find my child's name in the music cd's.

A. There are only 25,000 names in the cd program. Only one name in each CD. We can however change the spelling , to match yours as we print the labels. Try the Sentimental Journeys DVD's , we can use any name, as it appears on the DVD jacket, in the beginning of the movie, but you will not hear it in the DVD.
